"Bubbles" PrePro Concept Sketches
So the mermaid story has officially been chosen, and it's a story titled "Bubbles". More on that later. A more solid idea of the mermaid has been selected. We are moving forward with this character design:
But we need to make a few more adjustments. For example: Although the connected fin going down the sides to the bottom is an interesting design element, animating those fins is too challenging for the students. So we had to mainly think about a side fin that would be easier to animate.

6.22.11 Sketchbook
First week of summer break! Finals were fairly brutal, but it's nice to be on break. I have two doodles to post. The first one is one that I actually did last week but didn't really get around to posting. The second one I drew today after an exhaustive amount of drawings came before it. Today was a challenging day in that I was having a really hard time getting into drawing, nothing I drew seemed to come out right, and so I kept going until I finally got something that looked decent. It was really hard as a few times I just felt like giving up.

6.2.11 Sketchbook
Today I was doodling and came up with this little character. (above) He was fun to work with.

The two drawing above were from last week. I posted them on the Page -A-Day blog and decided to share them here as well.

Hercules Style Character
The task for this set was: Draw a character, and then redesign the character to fit in the world/style of Hercules and bring the drawing to completion. I had a lot of fun working on this character. I might bring it to color a little later even. :)

Overall I had a lot of fun with this project. I do hope to color it some day. :)

There are more drawings in this full process shot. I felt that the legs needed adjusting to make the character feel more balanced. It was a minor adjustment, but one that I felt helped the drawing.
Overall I had a lot of fun with this project. I do hope to color it some day. :)
