Button Song Screening 3.24.11
Today my experimental animation "Button Song" was screened at the Canvas Art Bar and Bistro. I was so excited about showing off my hard work that I was smiling from ear to ear the whole time. In addition tonight to the experimental animation students showing off their films, the Revolution Short that was being worked on was premiered tonight too. (I worked majorly hard on that production too). So it was a super eventful evening.
Overall I have to say that this was a fantastic way to end the term. I had a great time with everyone there. And now to finally post the video on vimeo!
Update: the video is up! Here's the link: http://vimeo.com/21477458
This was the whole Experimental Animation class after we showed off all of our films. I am distracted by someone on my right (I am in purple). But also I had no idea where to look as there were a ton of cameras flashing around us.
This was most of the group that worked on Revolution. Quite a bit bigger group but equally as proud and happy. :)
I had to take a picture with my sister and my boyfriend, both who I don't know if I could have completed this short without. I brought a bag full of the buttons that I used for my short and gave everyone who attended a button to keep.
I grabbed a picture with my teacher Marilyn Zornado and a fellow classmate Sophya Vidal. Thank you both so much for your encouragement during this term!

Button Song Behind the Scenes 3-11-11
So two days ago my sister and I spent all day shooting for my animation. It was a bit crazy, but we got all of our shooting done. We got scene 1, 3 and the ending credits all done. Yay! So now I'm working on edits and making the video. So exciting!
We had our shoot at Backspace Cafe for scene 3. We ordered some coffee to have during our work and it was very delicious and served in these cute cups!
Here was our setup at the Cafe. We worked in the back so we wouldn't be in the way. Thanks very much to the owner Eric Robison for giving us permission to work there!
This is me between shots moving around some buttons. It was a bit tiring.
This was from scene 1. To try to keep the bag from moving around as much we set up this box filled with heavy things.
This is when we were shooting the ending credits. It ties it into the beginning credits pretty nicely.
So that is what we did on Wednesday. I felt quite a bit of relief having gotten all that done. It still feels incredible and unbelievable that two people have been producing this short (my sister and I) and we got so much done!

Button Song Behind the Scenes 3-4-11
So today my sister and I worked on scene two of my experimental animation. It was much simpler than scene 1, but we were still fairly miserable outside. We were quite cold. Because we were warned that it might rain, we decided to make a makeshift tent around one side of the car so that we would be able to keep our equipment dry. It was pretty fun, and it brought me back to my fort building childhood.
